Very pigmented and responsive to water application. Has enabled my work to move to a new level. Excellent price too. Well done Amazon!

I bought this set as an adjunct to my collection of watercolor paints. Rather than buy more pans and tubes, I thought some better pencils than I already possess would both expand my palette with a wider range of colors and in a different form with which to make a variety of marks. I’m surprised that a set of 60 doesn’t include raw sienna or burnt umber – I have those in watercolor pans, but I’d think they’d be part of any set of 24 or more. It makes me wish I had bought the big set of 120, but it’s easier just to seek out whether I can buy those two colors separately. As for the product itself, my swatches have proven these pencils to have a very smooth and creamy laydown on paper which is unlike any other watercolor pencil I’ve tried, excellent lift once the marks are touched by water and a brush and vivid coloration. I’m very impressed already, even before trying them in combination with both Rembrandt and Winsor & Newton watercolors, which are my favorite, especially the W&N, which have unsurpassed transparency and handling qualities in my opinion. I think I’m going to love these pencils.

The pencils are in great condition. I’m only deducting a star because the tin had some damage to it. Overall, the pencils are wonderful.

My set of 60 has a very nice array of vivid and highly pigmented colors. Great for outlining then adding water to activate and shade your projects. They also can be used as straight up watercolors… pretty simple and sometimes I find that much easier then dragging out a paint set. There’s an old saying that you get what you pay for. . These are very well worth every dime you have to spend. I would say they were the best watercolor pencils I’ve ever used.

I have only tested these out and have not actually completed a painting yet. They are just a bit different than painting with regular watercolor paints, but you just have to get used to the differences. They are different in a good way. I am very glad I purchased them and look forward to using them for quite some time. The metal tin is nice, too.
